The Watson School of Biological Sciences is the graduate program at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. We have developed an innovative Ph.D. curriculum that takes advantage of the unique environment and extensive resources offered by the Laboratory.
The program is designed for students to complete their studies in 4-5 years. To this end they receive extensive mentoring throughout, with an academic as well as a research mentor, and complete their course work, rotations and qualifying exam within the first year. All students are fully funded by the school – stipends, tuition and research costs – giving them the freedom to join any lab, irrespective of whether that lab has other funding for them. In addition they receive subsidized housing and food, and full health benefits.
For more information about the Watson School and the application process, as well as an up-to-date list of our faculty and their research interests, please visit our website at www.cshl.edu/gradschool. Applications are being accepted until December 1, 2013 for the 2014 academic year.
